total digestible nutrients
an outmoded method of expressing the energy value of a feed; abbreviated TDN. Estimated as follows:
$$\rm %TDN={{DCP+DCF+DNFE+(DEE\times2.25)} \over {feed \ consumed\times100} }$$
where DCP = digestible crude protein, DCF = digestible crude fat, DNFE = digestible nitrogen-free extract, DEE = digestible ether extract.
One pound of TDN = 2000 kcal of digestible energy.
