toppling gait

top·pling gait

a gait in which the steps are uncertain and hesitant, and the patient totters and sometimes falls; probably due to a balance disorder; may be seen in elderly patients after a stroke.

toppling gait

The tendency of an individual who has suffered a stroke to fall toward the affected side of the brain.
