a child between 12 and 36 months of age. During this period of development the child acquires a sense of autonomy and independence through the mastery of various specialized tasks such as control of body functions, refinement of motor and language skills, and acquisition of socially acceptable behavior, especially toleration of delayed gratification and acceptance of separation from the mother or parents. The period is characterized by exploration of the environment and rapid cognitive development as the child strives for self-assertion and personal interaction with others while struggling with parental discipline and sibling rivalry. Of primary importance for the nurse is an understanding of the dynamics of the growth and development of the toddler to help parents deal effectively with appropriate nutrition, toilet training, temper tantrums, prevention of accidental injury (primarily from falls, poisoning, and burns), and childhood fears, especially anxiety as a result of separation from the parents.

He doesn't have fever or any other symptom. He started waking in the age of 1.5 years and he never walked well. He seems like he is never balanced on his left leg. His labor was traumatic, and I needed a C-section. what can be the source of his complaints?

He is too old for the regular casting treatment but i guess that a skilled orthopedic will know what to do.

Q. How much protein should an 18 month old male toddler have daily?

A. According to The Food and Nutrition Board and The Institute of Medicine, the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) for a toddler aged 1 to 3 include:
1.Protein: A minimum of 16 grams a day. 16 ounces of milk plus one ounce of meat is ample protein for a toddler.
2.Fat: At least 30% of a toddler's calories should come from fat. Too little can result in "failure to thrive" where children do not get enough food to supply their energy and growth needs.
3.Calories: approximately 1000 to 1300calories/day.
Calorie distribution is apt to look like this:
13 g Protein = 52 calories
44 g Fat = 396 calories
175 g Carbohydrate = 702 calories

A. His iron supplements would be incomplete and so is the requirement of iron drops being prescribed by the doctor. My daughter was also found to be iron deficient and the doctor suggested me to add diets such as oats, beans like soy beans, cereals, green vegetables like spinach, seafood, egg yolks, iron fortified breads, dry fruits. Iron plays a vital role in the formation of blood and its deficiency can lead to anemia. Early stage child anemia is harmful for the child. Do not forget to give oranges and citric fruits because it helps in the absorption of iron from foods taken.
