In his attempts at creating such a device the thermoscope was born, which had the ability to recognise a change in temperature (Bellis, 2005).
Here are some of the experiments you can try at home or in the classroom: build a model of Galileo's thermoscope to measure how different materials change temperature, construct a lunar calendar to examine the phases of the moon, or observe the feeding of ants to find out how they communicate.
