Patient discussion about the S word.

Q. I have been diagnosed with bipolar. I need some suggestions and helping words. Hi everyone...I am just 22 years old and I have been diagnosed with bipolar. I need some suggestions and helping words. My friends had shown me some of my video which they had taken during my odd maniac episodes. I am feeling ashamed and even fear the worst….

A. Hey Johnson,
It is scary to see yourself in times you are lacking control, but you do know what was happening at that time and you are now at an advantage over this illness. Knowing is half the battle. There are a lot of things you can do to control this illness and live a full and balanced life. Take your medications as perscribed and be patient with the process of finding the right combination for you. It can also be helpful to seek talk theropy. Try to get plenty of excercise and sleep, meditation can also be helpful. Trust in your ability to be well and work towards it. You will be okay.
