swedana karma

(swā-don′ă) [Sanskrit swedana, sweating + Sanskrit karma, action, deed]
In Ayurvedic medicine, any of various techniques to purify the body by making it sweat. These include having the patient drink an excessive amount of alcoho, exposing the patient to the hot sun or to fire, applying hot herbs to the patient's skin, and making the patient inhale steam or wrestle.
