superficial inguinal node, a node in one of the two groups of inguinal lymph glands in the upper femoral triangle of the thigh. The nodes form a chain distal to the inguinal ligament and receive afferent vessels from the skin of the penis, scrotum, perineum, buttocks, and abdominal wall below the level of the umbilicus.
