Also called a'bbad al shams, a'in ash shams, aycicegi, common sunflower, fleur soleil, flor de sol, girasol, gula barbaroza, guna baqan, gundondu, helianthe, himawari, tournesol, ward ash shams, and zonnebloem. sunflower a plant whose seed is used for oil for human food. The residual cake is a high-protein supplement but lacking in lysine.
