sternebra /ster·ne·bra/ (ster´ne-brah) pl. ster´nebrae   any of the segments of the sternum in early life, which later fuse to form the body of the sternum.
ster·ne·bra (stûrn-br)
n. pl. ster·ne·brae (-br)
One of the four segments of the primordial sternum of the embryo, the fusion of which forms the body of the adult sternum.
