stanozolol /stan·o·zo·lol/ (-zo-lol″) an androgenic anabolic steroid, used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema.

an androgenic anabolic steroid.
indications It is prescribed in the treatment of hereditary angioedema.
contraindications Cancer of the breast or prostate, nephrosis, pregnancy, or known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use.
adverse effects Among the most serious adverse effects are various androgenic effects in males and females, hypoestrogenic effects in females, and allergic reactions. GI disturbances may also occur.

Both greyhounds tested for metabolites of stanozolol - anabolic steroid - after the samples were analysised by the Horserace Forensic Laboratory (HFL), and the GBGB Disciplinary Committee found their handlers in breach of administrating a substance that could affect the performance and/or well being of their greyhounds.
Police suspect it is Stanozolol - the same as used by sprinter Ben Johnson in the 1988 Olympics - after they found 55 tablets in his car.
He is suspected of using stanozolol - the same substance used by Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson in the 1988 Olympics.
