a small, solid, raised skin lesion less than 1 cm in diameter, such as that found in lichen planus and nonpustular acne. Compare macule. papular, adj.

n a secondary lesion of syphilis seen at the angle of the lips, resulting from the formation of a papule that becomes fissured because of its position.
