A procedure for separating sperm cells from the seminal fluid, used especially in the treatment of male infertility.

sperm washing,
the bathing of fresh sperm with a special solution to remove antibodies and other contaminants so that it can be used for in vitro fertilization or some other technique of artificial insemination.
