sperm mucus penetration test

sperm mucus penetration test

A test used to evaluate male infertility. During the female partner's ovulation, a sample of mucus from the uterine cervix and a sample of the male's sperm are combined in a test tube. The distance that the sperm travel in 90 minutes is measured. Sperm penetration is considered to be normal when sperm easily travel through the cervical mucus during the allotted time.
