Spade Field

(1) Abdominal spade field A field of radiation therapy that encompasses the splenic pedicle, para-aortic and common iliac lymph nodes; double thickness lead shields are placed over gonads and pelvic structures—bladder, rectum, uterus
(2) A widened inferior aspect of the craniospinal irradiation field which encompasses the sacroiliac joints and covers the sacral nerve roots
