1 body build or physique.
2 the classification of individuals according to body build on the basis of certain physical characteristics. The primary types are ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph.

n a person's physique or body type. The importance of the somatotype toward health has been recognized since the time of Hippocrates, and the somatotype is currently regarded as the physical expression of lifelong interaction between a person's genotype and his or her environment.
