Solidago
North American plant genus in the family Asteraceae; contain an unidentified toxin. In some outbreaks there is suspicion that the poisoning is caused by a fungus growing on the plant but tests with the plant alone have proved its toxicity. Clinical signs include vomiting, dyspnea and death in most cases. Identified species include S. chinensis, S. mollis (S. concinna, range goldenrod), S. odora, S. specios, S. spectabilis (western goldenrod).
