skin drag,
n a comparative measure of resiliency of the fascia and tissues positioned near the surface of the skin. The purpose of obtaining this information is to determine the functional quality of these structures. The practitioner acquires this finding with fundamental palpatory skills.

There are also special kinds of swimsuits for competitive swimming that is designed to reduce skin drag, and can resemble unitards; this called the Dive skins swimwear.
Unitards and diveskins made of spandex reduce skin drag, and although these bathing suits do not promote thermal protection, they do protect the skin from stings, abrasions, cuts, and scratches.
