Skiing is one of the area''s most popular pursuits and many people are drawn there eager to experience the wide variety of ski trails on offer, as well as the plethora of other recreational activities available, such as mountaineering and snowmobiling.
In the winter, the town offers separate curling and ice rink facilities, hundreds of kilometres of groomed snowmobile trails, several groomed cross country ski trails and the Kiwissa Ski Hill with nine different runs for downhill skiing that are suitable for all levels of experience from the earliest beginner to the most experienced person looking to challenge themselves on some of the most technical hills in the area.
It has over 3,000 acres and according to most who have visited, they are almost perfect ski areas, with lots of the hoped for ridges, bowls, ski trails, terrain parks, trees, bumps and steeps.
