pause (pawz) an interruption or rest.

compensatory pause the pause in impulse generation after an extrasystole, either full if the sinus node is not reset or incomplete or noncompensatory if the node is reset and the cycle length is disrupted.

sinus pause a transient interruption in the sinus rhythm, of a duration that is not an exact multiple of the normal cardiac cycle.

sinus pause

A spontaneous interruption in the regular sinus rhythm lasting for a period that is not an exact multiple of the sinus cycle.
