single blind /sin·gle blind/ (sing´g'l blīnd) pertaining to an experiment in which subjects do not know which treatment they are receiving.

A testing procedure in which the administrators do not tell the subjects if they are being given a test treatment or a control treatment, used in an effort to avoid accidental bias in the results.

single-blind adj.

single blind

pertaining to a clinical trial or other experiment in which no subject knows whether he or she is receiving particular treatments or even lack of treatment (see placebo), but the administrator does have that information.
