n a traditional Ayurvedic preparation derived from the calcinated conch shell of Turbinella pyrum, which comprises magnesium, calcium, and iron. With well-known digestive and antacid properties, its use is indicated for sprue, hyperchlorhydria, hepatosplenomegaly, and colic. Also called conch shell calx, conch shell ash, and shankh bhasma.
