Byline: BenTurner LIVERPOOL governors are set to dock headteachers' pay if they refuse to set tests for pupils next month.
They gave a top class performance conducted by their musical director Ian Porthouse playing the set test piece, Within Blue Empires by Paul Lovatt Coope - described as one of the most difficult pieces ever composed for bands.
Mr Teago says if the national tests were abolished schools would still set tests and tell parents how their children had performed but wouldn't appear in league tables based on the test results.
