KARACHI, August 18, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Typhoid is a significant public health issue and is one of the leading infectious diseases in South Asia caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi, said a recently issued WHO report.
Multidrug-resistant Salmonella typhi has spread to many parts of the world, limiting the ability to treat typhoid fever with available antibiotics.
Her studies on specific biomarkers led to the discovery of an antigenically specific 50kDa of Salmonella typhi.
