lymphadenectomy,
surgical removal of a lymph node or nodes. Also called lymph node dissection.

lymphadenectomy [lim-fad″ĕ-nek´to-me]
excision of one or more lymph nodes, usually for the purpose of examination. Called also lymph node dissection.
retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy surgical removal of lymph nodes in the retroperitoneal space, usually because of cancer metastasis, such as from carcinomas of the genital organs in men. Called also retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.
