However, the list of REACH restricted substances is expected to develop more slowly than the REACH Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern, which may grow by up to 25 substances per year, according to the ECA.
Both the nongovernmental organization (NGO) activities and the candidate list itself are likely to foster the proliferation of company-specific lists of restricted substances with which their suppliers will need to comply in order to continue doing business with them.
All these chemicals are listed in the organization's 2003 policy document titled Guidance on Restricted Substances in Sports Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories.
