glycosuria /gly·cos·uria/ (su´re-ah) the presence of glucose in the urine. renal glycosuria that due to inherited inability of the renal tubules to reabsorb glucose completely.
renal glycosuria Etymology: L, ren, kidney; Gk, glykys, sweet, ouron, urine a familial condition characterized by lowered renal threshold to sugar. Blood glucose levels may be normal, although sugar is excreted in the urine. Also called renal diabetes mellitus. 'renal' glycosuria A common–1:500 AR condition in which glycosuria occurs without hyperglycemia, unrelated to diet; subjects are asymptomatic, have a normal glucose tolerance test and utilization and storage of
