A bimanual exam of the reproductive organs and tissues separating the vagina and rectum, which consists of inserting a gloved finger into the vagina and a second gloved finger of the same hand into the anus while the second hand presses on the lower abdominal wall, so as to identify lumps or bumps in the tissue separating the two structures.
