amok

A form of homicidal mania featuring extreme agitation and the attempt to kill as many people as possible. The attack is said to be followed by loss of memory for the event (AMNESIA). Amok was originally described as occurring among Malayan men armed with parangs. The modern form, which is far from unknown in the West, is more likely to feature a Kalashnikov automatic rifle.
