radionuclide reflux imaging

Imaging to determine whether an infant has gastroesophageal reflux. Radioactively labeled milk is given to the child orally, and the progress of the milk through the upper gastrointestinal tract (and in reflux, into the lungs) is monitored. The scan is typically used if an infant has had more than one episode of aspiration pneumonia.
