Jaksch anaemia

An anaemia of childhood onset, described until the mid-20th century, which was characterised by numerous immature red and white cells in the peripheral circulation and marked hepatosplenomegaly. It was attributed to poor nutrition, and often accompanied by rickets and infections. Spontaneous recovery was typical, but could take up to 2 years. This condition is no longer considered a disease a sui generis.
