Etymology: Gk, psammos, sand, oma, tumor
a neoplasm containing small calcified granules (psammoma bodies) that occurs in the meninges, choroid plexus, pineal body, and ovaries. Also called sand tumor.

psammoma [sah-mo´mah]
a tumor, especially a meningioma, that contains psammoma bodies.
