primal therapy

A method of psychotherapy in which patients relive traumatic early childhood experiences and express resulting painful feelings, sometimes by loud crying or screaming.
A type of psychotherapy based on the belief that many mental problems in adults are due to unresolved childhood conflicts, which are attributed to emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; the patient is encouraged to vent, and express emotional and mental pain by screaming

Primal therapy

A form of humanistic therapy that originated in the 1970s. Participants were encouraged to relive painful events and release feelings through screaming or crying rather than analysis.
