Otoscopic examination revealed a white mass on the posterosuperior
quadrant of the right tympanic membrane but was otherwise normal (figure 1).
His physical examination, in the upright position, revealed a mass of tortuous structures like a "bag of worms" in the posterosuperior
part of the right scrotum.
The uterus was found separately in the pelvis with its posterosuperior
wall adhering to the fetal sac.
The superior and anterosuperior parts of the labrum had less vascularity than do the posterosuperior
and inferior parts, and the vascularity was limited to the periphery of the labrum.
The epiphyseal blood supply is mediated through the ligamentum teres and posterosuperior
branches of the lateral epiphyseal vessels.
The origin of the MPFL was first shown by Nomura and colleagues (14) to be distal to the adductor tubercle and posterosuperior
to the medial epicondyle.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was carried out and demonstrated high signal intensity areas on T2-weighted and FLAIR images bilaterally and symmetrically in the paramedian thalami, mesencephalothalamic junction, right anterior, posterosuperior
cerebellar hemisphere, and the left occipital lobe.
There is also pressure erosion of the right talo-navicular joint and posterosuperior
aspect of the right calcaneus by overlying soft-tissue tophi.
Burkhart's group (2003a) believe that in the presence of a tight and thickened postero-inferior glenohumeral capsule, horizontal abduction combined with external rotation as is shown in the arm cocking phase will be associated with a postero-superior translation of the humeral head relative to the glenoid such that it no longer contacts the posterosuperior
Impingement of the deep surface of the supraspinatus tendon on the posterosuperior
glenoid rim: an arthroscopic study.
In 1979, McCarty et al reported a 94% success rate for disc-repositioning surgery; their technique involved removing 3 to 4 mm of the posterosuperior
condylar surface and a posterior wedge resection (2 mm) of the bilaminar zone with suture reapproximation (9).
The nasopharynx diameter (line N) is measured from the sphenobasioccipital synchondrosis (D') to the posterosuperior
part of the hard palate (C') and in practice represents the anteroposterior diameter of the nasopharyngeal space (figure, B).
