occurring after recumbency imposed by general anesthesia; any sequel may be the result of either.

post-anesthetic compartment syndrome
syndrome caused by compression of an anatomical part of the body causing decreased blood flow, i.e. ischemia and loss of function and sensation, and eventually necrosis; see also downer cow syndrome.
post-anesthetic morbidity
tissue damage resulting from hypoxia during anesthesia.
post-anesthetic myonecrosis
see post-anesthetic myopathy (below).
post-anesthetic myopathy
muscle ischemia sufficient to cause death of muscle fibers results from prolonged recumbency.
