polyvinyl /poly·vi·nyl/ (-vi´nil) a polymerization product of a monomeric vinyl compound.
polyvinyl alcohol  see under alcohol.
polyvinyl chloride  a tasteless, odorless, clear, hard resin formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride; its uses include packaging, clothing, and insulating pipes and wires. Workers in its manufacture are at risk because of the toxicity of vinyl chloride.

polyvinyl
