pleopticsĀ A method of treating amblyopia with eccentric fixation, which consists of dazzling the eccentrically fixating retinal area with high illumination while protecting the fovea with a disc projected onto the fundus and thereby rendering the fovea more responsive to fixation stimuli. There exist several variations of this procedure, but the therapy is very fastidious. See occlusion treatment; orthoptics; Visuscope. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
