A dissociative fugue state, usually occurring in Inuit women, in which the afflicted person screams, tears off her clothes, and runs out into the snow; afterward, she has no memory of the episode.
piblokto, pibloktog (pĭ-blŏk′ tō) [Inuit]
A syndrome, apparently culturally specific for Eskimo women, in which the person screams, removes or tears off her clothes, and runs naked in the snow. The woman then has no recollection of these events.
