perirenal /peri·re·nal/ (-re´n'l) perinephric.
perirenal around the kidney. perirenal edema an exaggeration around the kidney of generalized subserous edema; seen only in pigs and cattle. feline perirenal cysts uni- or bilateral accumulations of fluid in cystlike masses (pseudocysts) between the renal parenchyma and capsule or entirely extracapsular occur in aged, male cats causing a progressive abdominal enlargement, but not usually renal dysfunction. Called also perinephritic pseudocyst, renal capsular cyst, capsulogenic renal cyst, perirenal hygroma, capsular hydronephrosis and retroperitoneal perirenal cyst. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
