Sympathectomy that is achieved by decortication of the arteries.

sympathectomy
excision or interruption of some portion of the sympathetic nervous pathway. The operation produces temporary vasodilatation leading to improved nutrition of the part supplied by the vessel.

chemical sympathectomy
the interruption of the transmission of impulses through a sympathetic nerve by chemical agents.
periarterial sympathectomy
surgical removal of the sheath of an artery containing the sympathetic nerve fibers; it produces temporary vasodilatation.
