pennyroyal oil

pennyroyal oil
an aromatic extract of several mint plants, particularly Mentha pulegium and M. canadensis. Sometimes used as an insecticide or insect repellent on dogs and cats, but can be a cause of poisoning, particularly in cats, with signs that include panting, dyspnea and abortion.

She inaccurately states that arsenic is used to treat hyperactivity in children and that pennyroyal oil is prescribed by homeopaths to settle the stomach.
