induration /in·du·ra·tion/ (in″du-ra´shun) 1. sclerosis or hardening. 2. hardness. 3. an abnormally hard spot or place.in´durative black induration hardening and pigmentation of lung tissue in coal workers' pneumoconiosis. brown induration 1. a deposit of altered blood pigment in the lung. 2. increase of pulmonary connective tissue, dark colored due to anthracosis or chronic congestion from valvular heart disease. cyanotic induration hardening of the kidney from chronic venous congestion. granular induration cirrhosis. gray induration induration of lung tissue in or after pneumonia, without the pigmentation of brown induration. penile induration Peyronie's disease. red induration red, congested lung tissue seen in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
