pavor /pa·vor/ (pa´vor) [L.] terror. pavor noctur´nus [L. “night terrors”] a sleep disturbance of children causing them to cry out in fright and awake in panic, with poor recall of a nightmare. Repeated occurrences are called sleep terror disorder.
