Any of the scattered rudimentary tubules located in the broad ligament between the epoophoron and the uterus. Also called parovarium.

paroophoron
[per′ō·of′əron]
Etymology: Gk, para + oon, egg, pherein, to bear
a small vestigial remnant of the mesonephros, consisting of a few rudimentary tubules lying in the broad ligament between the epoophoron and the uterus. It is most evident in very young girls. A similar vestigial structure, the aberrant ductule, is found in the male. Also called parovarium. Compare epoophoron.

paroophoron
an inconstantly present, small group of coiled tubules between the layers of the mesosalpinx, being a remnant of the excretory part of the mesonephros.
