parapraxis

a lapse of memory or mental error, such as a slip of the tongue or misplacement of an object, which, in psychoanalytic theory, is due to unconscious associations and motives; commonly called a “freudian slip.”

In psychoanalytic terms, I want to suggest that the film's "mistakes" take on the significance of "cinematic parapraxes," bungled actions or unintentional performances which prove--in Freud's formulation--"to have valid motives and to be determined by motives unknown to consciousness" (Freud 1901, 239).
