paranasal sinus cysts
occur in horses primarily in the caudal maxillaary sinus and occasionally in the frontal or rostral sinus. Very young or old horses are affected. They present with nasal respiratory obstruction, facial swelling and nasal discharge. An increase in intramaxillary sinus pressure results in displacement of the nasal septum in a significant proportion of cases.
