parakinesia [-kinē′zhə] Etymology: Gk, para + kinesis, movement an abnormality of movement resulting from a nerve disorder in a muscle, such as an irregularity of one of the ocular muscles. Also called paracinesia [-sinē′zhə] . parakinesia perversion of motor powers causing strange and unnatural movements; in ophthalmology, irregular action of an individual ocular muscle.
