paradidymis /para·did·y·mis/ (-did´ĭ-mis) a group of several convoluted tubules in the anterior part of the spermatic cord; probably a remnant of the mesonephros.
paradidymis [per′ədid′imis] pl. paradidymides Etymology: Gk, para + epi, above, didymos, twin a rudimentary structure in the male, situated on the spermatic cord of the epididymis, that consists of vestigial remains of the caudal part of the embryonic mesonephric tubules. A similar vestigial structure, the paroophoron, is found in the female. Also called organ of Giraldes, parepididymis. See also appendix epididymidis. paradidymis [par″ah-did´ĭ-mis] a small, vestigial structure found occasionally in the adult in the anterior part of the spermatic cord.
