A thick, indurated omentum caused by diffuse infiltration by CA, usually epithelial, commonly, of ovary, but also colon, stomach or pancreas; by CT, the omental 'cake' is a flat layer of tumor separating the small or large intestine from the anterior abdominal wall. Cf 'Policeman of the abdomen.'.
