oxidoreductase /ox·i·do·re·duc·tase/ (ok″sĭ-do-re-duk´tās) any of a class of enzymes that catalyze the reversible transfer of electrons from a substrate that becomes oxidized to one that becomes reduced (oxidation-reduction, or redox reaction).
