seminoma /sem·i·no·ma/ (-no´mah) a radiosensitive, malignant neoplasm of the testis, thought to be derived from primordial germ cells of the sexually undifferentiated embryonic gonad. Cf. germinoma.
classical seminoma the most common type, composed of well-differentiated sheets or cords of polygonal or round cells (seminoma cells). ovarian seminoma dysgerminoma. spermatocytic seminoma a less malignant form characterized by cells resembling maturing spermatogonia with filamentous chromatin.
